RESCHEDULED, AGAIN: DAC Champs has been rescheduled to Monday, February 15th at the Fitch WARF in Warrenton. FIRST WARM-UP WILL BE AT 8:00 pm.
Below is the updated Meet Announcement for the rescheduled 27th Annual DAC Conference Championship Meet at the Fitch Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility on Monday, February 15, 2021. First warm-up will be at 8:00 p.m., the first event will be at 9:03 p.m. and the last event should end around 11:05 p.m. With final awards, we should be done by 11:20 p.m. Sorry it is so late, but this is our last chance.
Please read the Meet Announcement carefully because there are three (3) significant things that are different from our past practice.
One big difference from past seasons is the protocol we will be using to mitigate the risks of COVID. COVID Protocols for this meet will be guided by the policies of:
- The Town of Warrenton,
- The Fitch Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility,
- VISAA “Back to Play”,
- USA Swimming, and
- the State of Virginia.
It is a privilege for Seton to be able to host this meet, but to maintain that privilege, all participating teams must be very diligent in adhering to the protocols we have put in place.
A second big change from prior years is that Seton now has a Diving Team so that we can compete in all of the events included under VISAA Championship rules. The Diving competition will occur before the swimming competition. For this meet, we are also preparing to submit times/scores for the virtual State Championship meet, so we will be performing the traditional 6-dives for the scoring portion of the competition.
The final difference is that NO Spectators will be allowed inside the Fitch WARF. The meet will be streamed live on the Seton Swimming Highlights YouTube channel at: https://setonswimming.org/videos/
To enhance your viewing pleasure, here are two formats of the Meet Program that shows the swimmer lane assignments for every heat of every event:
Seton Divers will use their normally scheduled Friday morning practice time to hold the Diving portion of the Meet.
